The service is our Community Alarm System which provides and monitors all our emergency alarm units. It gives peace of mind to both users and their relatives. If you need help, all you have to do is press the large red button on either the unit or the pendant. The operators at Central Control will then know you have a problem. The pendant works up to 25 metres (75ft) away from the unit.

Anybody who feels vulnerable and wants to have peace of mind knowing there is somebody there to help 24 hours a day.

The alarm unit plugs into your telephone socket but you will still be able to use your phone in the normal way. Please make sure you have the new style phone socket where the phone can be plugged in and a 13 amp electrical socket fairly close together because wires must not run across doorways.

When an emergency occurs press the red button on the unit or the pendant and your alarm call will be connected to our control centre.

The control operator will be able to talk to you without you having to lift the receiver. If you need help he/she will telephone a nearby friend or relative or any other service thought necessary, for example your doctor or an ambulance. Your friend or relative will have already agreed to be your contact in the event of an emergency and will also have a key to your home.

If you can't get to the phone don't worry. Just press the pendant and the alarm unit will call the control centre, even if you are in your garden.

Don't worry if the operator can't hear you. Whoever you told us to contact in an emergency will be asked to call round.

No-one will be left to cope with an emergency or illness alone. The control operator will make sure someone comes to help no matter what time of day or night.

Don't worry if you press the button by mistake. The control operator will check everything is OK before saying goodbye and after all, this is a good way of testing the equipment.

A reasonable weekly charge is payable quarterly in advance and we would prefer you to arrange payment by Standing Order. The charge includes rental of the alarm unit, installation and the 24 hour emergency response by our control centre.

If you would like further details then please phone 0845 258 5550. Your name and telephone number will be passed to one of our officers who will contact you and arrange an appointment. The officer will demonstrate the equipment and if you are satisfied you will be asked to sign a contract. However, you are under no pressure to use this service but don't forget the peace of mind it will give to both you and your relatives.
